Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed with a glass bottle in Stoke-on-Trent.
The victim, in his late teens, was seriously injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
Staffordshire Police said it was called to Trinity Street in the Hanley area at about 04:00 BST and believed the attack followed an argument.
The arrested pair, aged 23 and 25, both from Stoke-on-Trent, were detained on suspicion of wounding with intent.
The 23-year-old was also arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis. Both men are being held in custody while inquiries continue.
A police cordon was set up around the scene.
